All remains to be seen, as this is just preseason, but Pellegrini seems to want to play his football again. This time with players better suited to the task, I would say.

If we stick 10 men behind the ball, we may keep them out for a bit but we'll still get slapped. Best we can hope for is 0-0 once every 10 years against them.
If we go for it, we will probably get slapped by a few more, but we could beat them 3-2 once every 10 years.
I'll take the 2nd option.
